SOUTH BEND - Esther Anna Palmer, 76, of North Wilbur Street, died at 1:18 p.m. Friday at Regency Place Nursing Home. Mrs. Palmer was born Sept. 23, 1919, in Paxico, Kan., and had lived in South Bend since 1943. On Sept. 8, 1945, in South Bend, as Esther Breitenstein she married Maurice Lyle Palmer. He survives with two sons, John F. and Lewis A., both of South Bend; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Mark Breitenstein of Wamego, Kan., and Paul Breitenstein of Kansas City, Kan. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Altar Rosary Society.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., where the rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the Rosary Society.
