Preceded in death by mother in law, Hazel Naomi Gibson Tucker; brothers, Warren, Sawyer, N.D., Donald Leroy Humes, Walter Humes, Vancouver, WA; sister, Lilian L. Humes, Sawyer, N.D. Sons, Steven Glen Humes, Stayton, OR, Glenn A. Humes, San Diego, CA.

In Addition: Glen and Carol lived in Mill City, Ore. till their three sons were grown. Glen worked at Detroit Dam. While Glen remodeled a 1900 farm house, a small farm and large garden was tended to. The Humes' were also members of Mill City First Presbyterian Church.

OCEAN PARK, WA - Former Vancouver resident Glen Allen Humes died Jan. 12, 2001, at St. John Medical Center in Longview. He was 66.

Mr. Humes was born May 22, 1934, in Minot, N.D. He lived in Vancouver from 1942 to 1958. He moved to Ocean Park from Stayton, Ore., in 1991.

Mr. Humes worked for the U.S. Corps of Engineers for 30 years, retiring in 1989.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and retired from the Oregon National Guard in 1993. Mr. Humes was a member of the American Legion in Ilwaco, Wash., and the Eagles Lodge in Ocean Park.

He enjoyed gardening, carpentry and traveling.

He preceded in death by a son, Glenn, in 1995.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, four brothers, one sister, and one grandchild.

A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Columbia Funeral Service in Longview is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Pacific County, 324 Second St. N.E. Long Beach, WA 98631; or to the Max Baer Fund in care of Ocean Park Eagles Lodge 3602, Ocean Park, WA 98640.
