Larry Benjamin Tullis

Funeral services for Mr. Larry Benjamin Tullis will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 28, 2021, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Sammy Morrow officiating.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Esler Field, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Mr. Tullis, 69, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, LA.

He was a Louisiana National Guard Veteran where he was a motor transport operator, serving in Operation Desert Storm. He retired from Pinecrest State School after thirty years of service as a Residential Training Specialist (RTS).

He enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting friends, riding his Harley, and was always dancing wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Iris Tullis; step-son, Byron Lee Christy; two brothers, Kennie Tullis and Barney Tullis; and his best friend, Tommy McKeithen.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his daughter, Kristy Tullis Phillips, of Bentley; his son, James Tullis, Sr., and his wife, Sharonda, of Many; step-daughter, Laurie Christy, of Bentley; step-son, Marvin Paul Christy, of Texas; one sister, Betty Mae Jarratt, of Petersburg, Virginia; one brother, Dalton Green, of Vidor, Texas; six grandchildren, Brittany Tullis, Madyson Phillips, Hunter Phillips, James B. Tullis, Jr., Tykia McGrough and Terry McGrough, Jr.; three step-grandchildren, Jessica Watkins, Dalton Christy and Dylan Christy; and twelve great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers honored to serve are: Hunter Phillips, Dalton Christy, Cliff Maness, Brandon Mancil, Aaron "Boo Boo" Johnson, and Terry Marler.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Tullis, Jr., Johnnie Heath, Dylan Christy, John Wayne McKeithen, Michael Brouillette, and Matthew Bell.
