John Wiley Davis Jr., 89, of Forest, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021. He was the loving and devoted husband of the late Margaret Ann Hughes Davis for 62 years.

Born on January 4, 1932, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late John Wiley Davis Sr. and Lockie Dinkins Davis. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Fitch and eight sisters.

He is survived by a daughter, Suzanne D. Jones and husband, Eddie; a granddaughter, Christa Matos and husband, Jonathan; a great-granddaughter, Marleigh; step-grandson, Troy Jones and companion, Shellie; and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of John's Life will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 21, 2021, in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service by the Rev. George B. Harris. Burial will follow with military honors by American Legion Post 16 in Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
