Anna Mae Davis Lipscomb, 90, of Lynchburg passed away Monday, January 1, 2018, at the residence of her son. She was the wife of the late Arthur Lee Lipscomb. Born September 15, 1927, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late John Wiley Davis, Sr. and the late Lockie Mae Dinkins Davis.
Anna was a retired secretary for GE and B&W, and was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Anna was preceded in death by six sisters and one great granddaughter.
Anna is survived by her children, James Lipscomb and his wife Brenda of Lynchburg, Bonnie Clark and her husband Carlton of Rustburg, Rita Watson and her husband James of Odenton, MD and Barbara Robertson and her husband Sammy of Chatham; one brother, John Davis, Jr. of Forest; one sister, Jacquelyn Gilbert of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, Carlton Clark, Jr. and his wife Deborah, Barry Clark and his wife Sara, Greg Watson and his wife Gina, Donovan Rivera and his wife Angel, Matthew Lipscomb, Caren Bowling and her husband Wayne and Brandon Lipscomb and his wife Jennifer; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Carl Weiser and the Rev. Terry St. John officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel
