Carl Foust

Carl Foust Daddies and daughters have a special bond that forms from the moment their little hands and fingers grip a daddy's one finger, and that grip is forever more. Daddy, there will always and forever be a tiny hand wrapped around your finger and your heart. We were blessed with a precious daddy, and our mom with a wonderful husband. All of those who knew our dad called him "honorable, kind, generous and sweet" - always placing others needs and feelings before his own. Daddy refused to leave until he knew that "his girls" and their mother would be safe and could carry on. Daddy always provided for his girls up to his death. Daddy told us that he would be our angel in heaven and continue to watch over us. We know you are watching daddy, and we love you. Daddy entered his life as Carl J. Foust on March 23, 1924 in Bridger, Mont. and left for his eternal life with his Heavenly Father on Nov. 29, 2007, surrounded by his caregiver, Jeremey Cureton and "his girls.". Daddy retired from the State of Idaho finding time to enjoy his love of producing a fabulous garden and his love of sharing its bounty with his friends and neighbors. Carl was preceded in death, but now reunited in heaven, by his mother, Mary Ellen Foust and his father, Carl H. Foust, his sister Esther Gray and brother Jim Phillips. Daddy was also preceded by his baby granddaughter, Julie Marie, who has now wrapped her tiny angel hand around his finger and being held in his loving arms. Carl is survived by his wife of 65 years. Daddy married our mother, Vivian Foust, on Jan. 28, 1944. Daddy leaves his two daughters, Sandy McDonald and Glenda Miller of Meridian, his grandson, Troy McDonald of Nampa, his sister, Madge Schlegel of Boise and a brother, David "Garth" Foust and his wife Nadine of Sloane, Ariz., along with his nieces and nephews who he was very proud of and loved dearly. Very special thanks to St. Luke's Hospital's ER director, Pat Burton, and her caring staff and to Cynthia Gearhard and her CCU staff. Daddy was so appreciative of the respect and care he was given by his RT's, nurses and staff. Thank you to the staff and caregivers at Seasons Assisted Living and to Legacy Hospice to Jeremey Cureton and to Mandy Gage. Thank you for your genuine caring and helping daddy pass with dignity and comfort and for caring for us and our mother during this difficult time. Service and internment will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery with Pastor Chris Costa of University Baptist Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor, Garden City. In lieu of flowers, our family asks that memorials be made to Legacy Hospice, 680 Progress Avenue, Ste 2A, Meridian, Idaho 83642.
