Cynthia Marie Land was the daughter of Edgar Corprew Land and his wife, Cora Virginia Simpson. She was born in what was then Princess Anne County, Virginia (now city of Virginia Beach). She was married to Floyd Emerson Bonney, Sr on July 6, 1929 in Princess Anne County, Virginia.

Princess Anne County, Virginia marriage records show the following -
"Married July 6, 1929 - Floyd Emerson Bonney, single, and
Cynthia Maria Land, single - Floyd Emerson Bonney, age 22, born in Princess Anne County, Virginia and residing in Back Bay [Princess Anne County], Virginia, occupation Farmer, son of Edward B. Bonney and his wife, Sarah Eaton - Cynthia Maria Land, age 16, born in Princess Anne County, Virginia and residing in Princess Anne [Princess Anne County], Virginia, daughter of Edgar C. Land and his wife, Cora Simpson"

"Marie Land Bonney, 78, of the 1300 block of Princess Anne Road, a retired bus driver, died Dec. 14, 1991, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Bonney was born in Princess Anne County. She retired from the Virginia Beach school system and had been a food-service worker for 15 years. She was a member of Charity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Floyd E. Bonney Sr.; two daughters, Melrose B. Ansell of Knotts Island, N.C., and Jane B. Etheridge of Virginia Beach; a son, Floyd E. Bonney Jr. of Georgetown, S.C.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Charity United Methodist Church by the Rev. T.P. Reynolds and the Rev. Phillip Jethro. Burial will be in Charity Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 4 to 5 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel."
