Floyd Emerson Bonney, aka "Dunie", age 83, passed away on December 10, 2020 due to complications from congestive heart failure. He was born on June 4, 1937 in Virginia Beach, VA to Floyd and Marie (Land) Bonney. He eloped and married his high school sweetheart, Anne Lindsey Bonney, in 1955, who preceded him in death in 2017.
Floyd was a lifelong resident of Pungo, VA and a graduate of Princess Anne High School. He was an avid farmer, commercial fisherman and businessman, having owned restaurants and businesses in both Virginia and South Carolina. He was also a proud Army Veteran. At the time of his death, he was the owner of Bonney and Sons Seafood and Produce in Pungo, VA.
In addition to his spouse and parents, he is predeceased by his son, Jeffery Bonney, a grandson, Jeffery Bonney, Jr., and sister, Melrose (Jennings) Ansell. He is survived by his son, Todd Bonney (Mary), grandchildren, Colby Bonney, Bradley Bonney, Christopher Bonney, and Taylor Saunders, sister, Jane (Larry) Etheridge, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Charity Cemetery on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
