Notes:

"wife of L. (sic) [I.] C. Vanatti, died suddenly Wednesday at her home near Melrose."

Wife of Ira Charles Vanatta, and as far as I know, they didn't ever live near Melrose. From his obituary: "Later they moved on a farm south of Galena where they lived until Mrs. Vannetta's death, which occurred last April."

She also had more children than "Mrs. Laura Fry and Mrs. Ella Fry of Galena."

One son who died as a child, ? struck by lightning? isn't in Ira Charles obituary.

Spelling of the surname: It would appear to be Vannatta or Vanatta, and they were originally from Germany. I can't tie them to the Columbus Vanatta, but they were both from the same part of Pennsylvania.

As far as I've been able to determine, Ella Vannatta Fry Courtright became interested in the family tree and somehow decided the family was of Italian or Sicilian descent and wanted to use that type spelling. They couldn't seem to settle on any one spelling.
