David Chaplin Jr. (Sr.) was the son of David Chaplin Sr. and Mary "Molly" Bradstreet. He married Prudence Pierce 08 Feb 1774, daughter of Jonathan Pierce & Sarah Dodge.

Known children of David and Prudence:

Prudence , believed to have died young in Lunenburg

They lived where his Father did (at 197) He was Constable 1778, and Coll. In 1801 David Chaplin of Springfield bought a tract of land from Amos Lockwood, in Baltimore, Vermont. On this same day he sold 20 acres from the south side to his don David J. [3rd]. He sold 35 acres to his son James along with his personal estate as long as he [James] took care of his father David Chaplin, Prudence his wife and Molly [Mary nee Bradstreet] Chaplin the said David's mother.

June of the next year, 1805 another deed was made, "holden and firmly bound to well and truly maintain, or cause to be maintained in a decent manner David Chaplin and Prudence Chaplin hi wife and Molly [Mary nee Bradstreet] Chaplin, mother of said David through their natural lives to provide all the common necessaries of life, both in sickness and in health, all clear through each one of their natural lives."

More land transaction took place, one taking place 06 Sep 1808 in which Molly [Mary nee Bradstreet Chaplin] was not mentioned, so it is assumed she had passed on by that date.
