Nell Allen Denton Ball - Age 94, passed away on November 29, 2010 at The Health Care Center at West Meade Place. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years. Lenard Ball; son, Lee Ball; parents, Aaron Grady Denton and Lura Vinson Denton; brother, Joe F. Denton and sister, Kay Denton Thomas. Nell is survived by her nephew, John F. Morris (Jo) of Murfreesboro. Nell had been a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church all of her life, where she served on numerous committees. She was the pianist for the Fellowship Class for over 20 years and was a member of the church's Centennial Steering Committee. Nell also served as Chairman of the Park Avenue Christian School Board. She was involved in the Nashville Chapter of the Executive Women's International organization where she served as President, and was named Woman of the Year in 1968. Nell was employed by American Airlines, Inc. for 24 years and retired in 1976. She resided at the Cloisters at St. Henry, where she served as Secretary of the Board of Directors for five years. Funeral services will be at 1 o'clock the afternoon of Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home, with Rev. Bob Mowrey of Scottsboro Baptist Church and Bobby Strickland officiating. Family and friends will gather from 12 o'clock Noon until time of service to remember Nell.
