"Col. B.F. McGehee, of Arcadia, died on 1st inst., after a long and painful illness from cancer, aged about 60 years. Col. McGehee was a native of Tennessee* and came to Missouri more than 12 years ago. He espoused Mrs. A. Janis, who survives him. He was of genial temperment and kindly disposition. At the age of 21, he moved with his parents to Jacksonville, Al. Some years after he moved to Nashville and then to Winchester, Tn., where he was a miner. He came to Missouri about 1871."
