[Family anecdotal recollection: Her nieces & nephews did not call her "Aunt" Sarah, but "Saint" Sarah.]
She & Gen Walker had no natural children but took in and/or adopted some of Gen Walker's nephews and nieces, one of them her brother James's wife's in-laws. Unable to find who Jennie's parents were.
Her obituary from the Jacksonville Republican newspaper, dated Saturday, April 24, 1880
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Thos. A. Walker
which ocurred at her home in this place at 8 o'clock, the evening of the 21st
inst. For more than thirty years she has been a citizen of our town. Her walk
has been exemplary and worthy of imitation. She was a lady of sterling worth
and possessed many noble and good traits of character. Always ready and prompt
to do good and equally so as to spurn and condemn evil. We tender to her
bereaved our warmest and most sincere sympathy.
