Judge Thomas A Walker served as a Brigadier General in the Ala. state Militia during the Creek-Indian War (1836). In addition, he was a law maker in Alabama and considered highly influential in the Alabama State Legislature when the state capitol was at Tuscaloosa. In the period leading up to the Civil War he was President of the Alabama and Tennessee Railroad (1857-1861). He was held in reserve in the 'Home Guards' during the actual conflict 1861-1865. His contributions were quite broad in his era, including judicial, and, his legacy included construction of "The Magnolias."

Almost all of my pages in the Calhoun County, AL, area would not exist or would be highly incomplete without the generous help of Fallen Graver MaryAnnBaggettFerguson

Daughter Jennie is adopted.

Walker was in the Creek War of 1836. Not the War of 1812 when he was a one year
old. Please change that information to the correct Creek War.
