James Newton Carlin was my grandmothers brother. He was the son of James Carlin and Catherine Lang Carlin. He had 3 brothers, Andrew (died in infancy), Frank and George. 2 sisters Margaret and Mary. His father left the family when he was young and he was never heard from again. He was married to Anne Palmasano and they had 3 daughters, Mary Ann, Catherine and Jeannette.
