Henry was the son of Peter and Randi (Paulson) Nelson. His parents were immigrants from Norway. He had 5 sisters - Kjersti, Petrine, Emma, Ingeborg and Oline, and 5 brothers - Henry (1),Emil, Gilbert, Nils and Gilbert. Petrine, Emil, Oline and Henry(1) died within days of each other of the flu in 1885.
Henry married Elsie Jacquot in 1918 and had 4 daughters, Carol Carpenter, Catherine Doyle, Marilyn Nichols, and Barbara Middleton, my mother.
Henry and Elsie moved to Councl Bluffs Iowa after the birth of Catherine and lived there until their deaths. I never knew my grandfather, he died before I was born.
