Henry (Hank) Johns, 73, of 2511 N. Rouse, died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the Girard Hospital. He had been a patient there since May 24. Mr. Johns was born Dec. 14, 1903, at Neodesha. He moved to Pittsburg as a child and had lived here since, including the last 16 years at his present home. He had been a truck driver driver for Long Bell Lumber Co. for 22 years. He married Nannie Brown June 11, 1930, at Nevada, Mo. She survives of the home. Other survivors include three sons, William (Bill) johns, Frontenac, James A. (Jim) Johns, Arcadia, and Roy Johns, Pittsburg; seven daughters, Mrs. John (Betty) Pryor, 1101 E. Ninth, Mrs. Don (Lottie) Phillips, 504 E. 23rd, Mrs. Tom (Dorothy) Jacks, 602 E. 23rd, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Wallace, Route 1, Mrs. Harry (Vickie) Russell, Washington, D.C., Mrs. Everett (Debbie) Beasley, Frontenac, and Miss Nancy Johns, Route 2; five brothers, Delbert Johns, Johnnie Johns, Orville Johns and Louie Johns, all of Blackwell, Okla., and James L. Johns, Salt Lake City, Utah; 33 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. One daughter, Dolly Browning, preceded him in death in 1925. (Dolly actually died in 1943)
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac with the Rev. Don Hood officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac.
