Obituary / R. D. Callaway Passes Away - Mr. Robert Dawson Callaway died Tuesday, March 1st at his home in Union Point following a long illness. He was born April 10, 1875 and had lived in Union Point all of his life. He was the son of L.L. Callaway of California and Josephine Mullins Callaway, of Penfield. Mr. Callaway was a member of the Penfield Baptist Church. He was a Mason in the past lodge in Penfield. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3rd at 3:00 o'clock at the Penfield Baptist Church with interment in the Penfield cemetery. The pall bearers will be Earl Butler, Marshall Turner, Howard and Vason Lankford, Julian and Beaman Callaway. Rev. Charles H. Kopp will officiate. Mr. Callaway is survived by his son, Homer C. Callaway, of Union Point; two sisters, Mrs. D.P. Brake of Union Point, and Mrs. B.M. Jester, of Augusta; three brothers, Lemial Callaway, Baxley Ga., Samuel Callaway, Calif., and C.P. Callaway, of Union Point. Six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
