Donald Rea “Don” Stevens, 86, Nixa, Missouri passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2021 with his family by his side at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. He was born October 27, 1934 in Delaware, Arkansas to John and Anna (Jackson) Stevens. Don was one of ten children of the home. He was a graduate of Springfield High School. He married Joretta Maples on February 17, 1963 and had celebrated 38 years before her passing in 2000, and this union was blessed with one son Mark.
Don was employed with City Utilities for 38 plus years until his retirement. Don loved to fish and fish and fish as well as watching Mud Runs. He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Joretta, and nine siblings. He is survived by his son Mark (Donna) Stevens, granddaughter, Kristy (L.J.) Harris, grandson, Zac (Holly) Stevens, great grandchildren, Kadence Harris, Layne Harris, Emberly Stevens, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends. A Visitation has been scheduled to be held Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Meadors Funeral Home, Clever, Missouri. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 29, 2021 at Union Ridge Cemetery, Clever, Missouri. In lieu of flowers the family has ask that memorial contributions be made to the Disabled Veterans Association in memory of Donald Stevens.
