The Odebolt Chronicle - Thursday , October 6th, 1955 - Funeral services were held in St. Martin's church Wednesday morning, Sept. 28 for Frank Olberding, who died in St. Anthony's hospital, Carroll Sunday, Sept. 25 of a coronary thrombosis. The Rev. Father Robert Joynt officiated.
Frank Henry Olberding was born August 26, 1893 at Arcadia, Iowa, the son of Barney and Mary Olberding. He was educated in the Arcadia school and lived in that community for 17 years. He was married to Victoria Nees at Mt. Carmel Nov. 28, 1923 and they resided on farms at Arcadia and Wall Lake coming to a farm near Odebolt in 1938. Six children were born to this couple.
Mr. Olberding was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Herman and Clem and one sister, Josephine, Mrs. Joe Lengeling.
He is survived by his widow and six children, Norman of Arthur; Mardell (Mrs. Lester Ploeger) of Schaller; Elaine (Mrs. Joseph Kennedy) of Storm Lake; Marilyn (Mrs. Robert L. Thompson Jr.), of Fort Myers, Fla.; Vernon and Sharon at home.
Interment was in St. Martin's cemetery in Odebolt with John Miller, John Taphorn, Joe Roeder, Paul Konradi, Henry Schwaller, and Lawrence Ludwig as attendants. Relitives and friends from a distance attending the last rites came from Chicago, IL., Fort Myers, Fla., Luverne, Minn., Worthington, Minn., Vail, Breda, Boone, Massena, Webb, Carroll, Arcadia, Lidderdale, Auburn, Fort Dodge, Glidden, Templeton, Westside, Storm Lake, Schaller, Dedham, Sac City, Early, Kiron, Mt. Carmel, Galva and Wall Lake.
