Rites To Be at 9:30 A.M. In St. Bernard's Church.
Breda, Ia.--Mrs. Joe Lengeling died at the Davidson Hospital at Lake City, Iowa, at 8:45 a.m., Saturday, August 5, 1939, a victim of nephritis. She had submitted to an operation after becoming ill three weeks previous. Her condition was very critical for several days, and then she began gradually improving. She underwent a second operation about ten days prior to her death, and her condition was very serious from that time on. On Friday her condition grew critical and her family were called to her bedside. All her family were with her when she passed away.
Funeral services, under the direction of the Olerich Funeral Home, were held at 9:30 Tuesday morning, August 8, at St. Bernard's Church in Breda with the Rev. E.L. Schleyer celebrating the requiem mass. Burial was in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clem Polking, Frank Polking, Joe Heinrichs, Abel Peters, Joe Berning, and Charles Schelle.
She was survived by her husband Joseph; seven children, Irwin Lengeling, of Chicago, Ill.; and Imelda, Vincent, Cyril, Lorena, Delbert, and Delmar, all at home; and three brothers and six sisters: Mrs. Frank Enenbach, of Arcadia, Ia., Mrs. Joe Steve [Sleve?], of Breda, Ia., Mrs. Henry Franzwa, of Carroll, Ia., Herman Olberding, of Lismore, Minn., Ben Olberding, of Luverne, Minn., Henry Olberding, of Breda, Ia., John Olberding, of Carroll, Ia., Frank Olberding, of Odebolt, Ia., and A.J. Olberding, of Chicago, Ill. Her father preceded her in death August 29, 1935, and her mother died November 21, 1931. A brother, Clem Olberding, of Lismore, Minn., died in 1936.
