Virginia Faye Chance, 75, of Spiro, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2003, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born April 18, 1927 at Waveland, Ark. to Andrew and Ruth Ann (Hendrix) Poe. She was a homemaker and loved to watch sports on TV.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Brian and Wendell Chance; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Debra Chance of the home, Sue Christenberry and husband Faron of Keota, and Faye Tipton and husband Charles of Spiro; four sons, Gerald, Dennis, Wilbur and Ray Chance, all of Spiro; two sisters, Dorothy Anderson of Porterville, Calif. and Johnnie Ruth Turner of California; one brother, Ernest Poe of Porterville, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 7 at the New Hope Cemetery with Mr. Joe Avery officiating, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Chance, John Chance, Joe Chance, Dennis Chance Jr., Josh Christenberry and Chase Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Crockett and E.J. Solomon
