Dies in Meridian
Mrs. Cleta Gordon Shirley, 32, died in Meridian Friday night after an extended illness. She is a former resident of Jackson, having lived here until the time of her marriage.
She was a member of the Gallaway Memorial Methodist Church here, a member of the Debutante Club of Mississippi, The D.A.R. Junior Auxiliary. At the University of Mississippi she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority.
Survivors include her husband, W. Cliff Shirley, Meridian; two daughters, Cleta, Jr., 8, Connie, 6; a son, Cliff, Jr., 4; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Gordon, Jackson; and a twin brother, Walter S. Gordon, Jr., Lafayette, La.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday from the Webb Funeral Home in Meridian.
