Elizabeth (Erzebet) Komar was born in Mandok, Szabolcs, Hungary about the time her father Istvan Komar died. Not long afterward her mother married Andrew (Andras) Borbely/Borbey/Barber. She identified Barber as her father, since she probably had no memory of her birth father. She immigrated to the United States with her parents and siblings about 1888. They lived initially in Pocahontas, Virginia, which at the time was a major coal mining area. The family later moved to Pennsylvania coal fields where her step father worked. The family then moved to Sheridan, Sheridan County, Wyoming, again to work in coal mines there. She met and married William Denton 19 February 1904 in Sheridan, Whoming. He was born in 1875 in Pennsylvania. The family was still living in Sheridan, Wyoming , on a ranch at the time of the 19s0 census. By 1930 they were living in Willows, Glenn County, California, 85 miles north of Sacramento. William died in 1938 and Elizabeth died in 1941. They are parents of six children, all born in Wyoming--Elizabeth (b. abt. 1904); Roy (b. abt 1907); Joseph (b. abt 1908-1909); William D. Denton (b. abt. 1917-19180; George C. Denton (b. abt. 1919); and Marjorie (b. April 1927).
