She was born on April 24, 1936 in Fentress, Tennessee, the daughter of William M. and Maude M. (Reynolds) Barlow and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1953.
Ella worked as a secretary in the purchasing department for Westinghouse/ABB and retired after 26 ½ years. She also owned Shorty's Delta Queen in Royerton with her husband Spence.
She was a member of Towne Acres Church of Christ and loved spending time with her family. Ella also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, dancing and spending her winters in Florida with friends.
Survivors include her husband of nearly forty years, Spencer Lee Middlecoff; five children, Thomas "TJ" Mahoney (Sonja), Joella Squires (Jon), Janis McAdam (Brian), Laura Walton (Darryl) and Mark Middlecoff; grandchildren, Chancelor Mahoney, Kristen Goodwin (Cody), Summer Johnson, Ashton Brown (Leigh), Ryan Squires (Heather), Nicholas Squires, Colin McAdam, Nicholas Weherley (Milli) and Natalie Decker; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and two more great-great grandchildren on the way; a sister, Dixie Rench; brother, Larry Sexton (Janet); also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Loma Daisy Sexton and Edna Barlow; three brothers, Waymon Barlow, Raymond "JC" Barlow and Lowell Barlow; along with her parents.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Towne Acres Church of Christ with Pastor Tim Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church on Thursday.
