Fred Eugene Braden, Sr. – age 81 of Knoxville went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church. Fred loved the Lord, his church, and his family. He greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. Fred loved to preach the Word and had a ministry at Hillcrest North for over 25 years. Fred had many talents including singing solos which he referred to as “making a joyful noise”.

Preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Mattie Braden; brothers, Frank, Lindsey, Ernest and Donald Braden; and sister, Geneva Johnson.

Survived by loving wife of 27 years, Mildred C. Braden; children, Freddie Braden, Jr., Missy (Robby) Chadwell, and Shannon (April) Braden; grandchildren, Taylor, Samuel, and Elijah Braden, Miranda (Jesse) Chadwell, Shannon (Destinee), Aaron, and McKinzie Braden; great grandson, Zlyn Zeglen; brother, Clyde Braden; and sisters, Frances Waddell, Mozella Wallace, and Janie (Jack) Ealy; special sisters-in-law, Grace Cooper, Sue Dawn, and Faye Cooper; and many special nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet 12:45 PM on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 1:00 PM graveside service with Rev. Larry Day officiating. Full military honors provided by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The family requests that all social distancing and face covering guidelines be observed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UT Hospice.
