Mrs. Edith Adelaide Stone, 51, died yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock after an illness of two months with heart trouble and complications, during which time she had been confined to her bed. She was born in Cortmaitland, Nova Scotia, March 16, 1880. She married Merton C. Stone in North Adams, Mass., Aug. 6, 1906, and they lived for a few years in Troy, N.Y., after which they came to South Newfane, where they have since made their home. She leaves, besides her husband, seven children: Mrs. Richard Gallup of Brattleboro, Raymond Stone of Winooski, Bernard Stone of Williamsville and Weldon, Marion, Beulah and Roland Stone, living at home. She also leaves one granddaughter, Arline Claire Gallup of Brattleboro. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p. m., at the South Newfane church. Burial will be in the Williamsville cemetery. Mrs. Stone was a member of the South Newfane church and was affiliated with the Ladles' Aid society of that church. She was a devoted wife and mother and her helpfulness and kindness as a neighbor will be missed by many.
