Samuel S. “Big Sam” Shira, age 81 of Galena, passed away at 7:15 AM on Friday, December 18, 2020 following an illness.
Sam was born on July 23, 1939 to the union of John William Shira and Cletus Brilliant (Mooney) Shira. He worked as a painter for Ozark Engineering for 20 years, and also worked as a self-employed handyman throughout the area. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and working on his cars.
He is survived by one son, Samuel Dale Shira of Independence, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cletus; and one son, Bobby Dale Shira.
