He was born in Ireland/Scotland.Kidnapped with his brother while playing on a beach in Ireland and brought to North Carolina. Had farm in Algood, Tenn., moved around Secor, IL in 1833. The county was McLean at the time and later became Woodford Co. Married Mary (Pollly McCord on Feb. 13, 1798 in Iredell Co., NC. His grave could have the first grave. He was a veteran of the Revolutionary War, fought with NC troops. His grave is marked with what appears to be a rather new stone. Stone is marked with "A Revolutionary Soldier"
