Martha Sue Duncan Staten, age 83 of Oneida, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, November 25, 2020 surrounded by family and friends. Born on March 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Luther and Gertie Acres Duncan. Sue was saved at an early age and left a beautiful testimony of her faith in Christ. She was a member of Salem United Baptist Church in Oneida, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by stepdaughters, Cindy Linville and Beth Fischesser; brothers, James and Melbert; and her grandfather, “Poppy,” whom she loved very much.

Sue is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Reverend Robert E. Staten; sons, Rick Kendrick of Ohio, James “Bub” Kendrick of Clarksville, Tennessee, Jerry Kendrick and wife Grace, David Staten and wife Ann, and Tom Fischesser, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Joe Duncan and David Duncan, both of Oneida, Tennessee, Joshua Duncan and wife Bonnie of Rising Sun, Indiana; sisters, Easter Toler, Ann Kidd, Lynn Fornash, and Mary Hall, all of Oneida, Tennessee and June Toomey and husband Dan of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends, all of whom loved her very much.

Graveside service will be on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 1 p.m. in the Wilhite Cemetery in the Buffalo community with Bro. Jeff Dyer of Sunbright, Tennessee and Bro. Mike Callahan of Hamilton, Ohio officiating. Music will be provided by family and friends. Pallbearers will be: Eric Botts, Jared Chitwood, Tristen Henry, Zane Henry, Leon “Buck” Posey, and James “Jamie” Posey.

With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Masks are required.
