Hazel Catherine Kerns, 75 of Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was born June 24, 1945 in the Tea Run Community of Fleming County, Kentucky to the late Avery Fleming Hunt and Elizabeth Blanche Earlywine Hunt.

Hazel was retired from Fleming County Hospital where she had worked as a Respiratory Therapist for over 36 years. She had also worked as a private in home caregiver and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers; Avery Estill Hunt, Steve Delewis Hunt and David Lee Hunt. Four sisters; Anna Louise Gray, Emma Garr Gray, Jeanette Carpenter and Joy Marie Mitchell.

Survivors include her son, Darrell Clay Kerns of Goddard, Kentucky. One brother, Rocky Hunt and his wife Teresa of Flemingsburg, Kentucky and one sister, Carolyn Virginia Pollitt and her husband Leo of Flemingsburg, Kentucky. Four step-grandchildren; Patsy Carol Brinker, Charlie Brinker, Sheena Thomas and Cody Faris. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2020 in the Elizaville Cemetery Chapel with Brother James Ray Hickerson officiating.

There is no visitation.
