Martha Hanna McKee was the daughter of John Telford McKee and Agnes Nancy Hanna. She was married to Madison Dunlap on 18 Jan 1834 in Rockbridge Co., VA, by Rev. Jas Paine.

The Rockbridge Co., VA Marriage Register #1, 1778-1865 is typed and page 283 says Madison Dunlap and Martha H. McKee, were married on 18 Jan 1834 by Rev. Jas Paine.

On the 1850 Dist. 51, Rockbridge Co., VA, I found farmer Madison Dunlap, 42 with $13K in real estate; other Dunlaps: R.K., 15; John M., 13; Samuel M., 7; Wm M., 3; MRS. M., 38; Margaret, 11 and Nannie, 5, plus 3 workers, all VA born. He was not a slave owner.

I found a 3 page letter and envelope dated 25 Jul 1854, addressed to Robert K Dunlap, for sale on eBay in early Feb 2018. It mentions Robert's brothers Milton, Walter, brother in law, Dr. Strain and his girls; John, Nannie and Sis; plus a Robert with James Dunlap.

Stamped handwritten envelope says:

Well Robert I was very glad to get your letter this morning and you were right about me being the first one to red it(.) I expected one last week this is tuesday and your letter was dated 21st where has it been all this time? we sent to the office every morning we have a dayly mail now, it is now after two o clock, the last time I wrote I did not give my self time the stage was coming down the road be for the letter was started and I sent it by Sis for fear it would not go in that mail (,) she took it a skipping... It is signed "affections, Mother."

On the 1860 Kerrs Creek, Dist. 5, Rockbridge Co., VA census, I found farmer Madison Dunlap, 51 with $20K in real estate, plus other Dunlaps: (female) M. Henderson (sic), 48; (the rest are male Dunlaps) J. Wm. (Jno M), 23; S. Mackey (Saml McKee), 17; Wm M., 13; M. Kyle (Milton P.), 9; W. White (Walter Wharton), 7 and O. Benj. (O Beverlin), 5 plus a seamstress, etc. He was not a slave owner.

On the 1870 Kerrs Creek, Rockbridge Co., VA census, I found farmer (male) M. Dunlap, 51 with $24,400 in real estate and other Dunlaps: MARTHA H., 58; Laborers: Samuel, 27; Wm M., 23; Milton, 20; Walter W., 17 and Oklelia B., 15, all VA born. Other laborers and probably domestic with her young children resided with them. R K Dunlap and family lived nearby.

Staunton Spectator., 28 Oct and 5 Nov 1872, Deaths, On Monday morning, the 28th ult., at her residence on Kerr's Creek, Rockbridge county, Mrs. Martha A. (sic) Dunlap, wife of Madison Dunlap, Esq., aged about 63 years.

White marble gravestone says:

Note: Based on the age on this stone, her birth date should be 05 Aug 1811, but it is recorded elsewhere as 8 Aug 1811 instead....

The older photo was taken August 1999, when her gravestone was detached and laying down on the ground. In 2014 after the grass/weeds were mowed, there were 4 standing markers, Madison Dunlap, Martha Dunlap and John M. Dunlap together and on the side was John T. McKee's. The footstones were moved in front of the standing markers. The others there must still be lying flat.
