Freida Alta Guenther, 88, formerly of 1495 S. Kellogg St. died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
Born June 28, 1911, in Quincy to Fredrick Walter and Clara Rebecca Ann Stultz Greene, she married Lowell E. Guenther on Jan. 22, 1931, in Galesburg. He died Dec. 28, 1983. She also was preceded in death by three sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Norma) Goedeke of Maquon; one son, Howard of Knoxville; one brother, Harold Greene of Galesburg; and three sisters, Gladys Anderson of Abingdon, Caroline Stripe of Galesburg, and Pearl Blevins of Bakersfield, Calif.
She worked at the former Denny's Dry Cleaners and was a homemaker.
Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.
