She was born July 19, 1857, youngest daughter of Stephen and Mary Anne Bauter Cain. On Dec. 31, 1877, she was married to Frank E. Rush and in 1891, the family moved to Pautuxant, Maryland. Mr. Rush died March 8, 1892, and Mrs. Rush came back to Camden with her five children and on Nov. 28, 1900, was married to John P. Smith, who died Jan. 3 1925.
Mrs. Smith was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Camden Chapter, O. E. S., and Queen Village Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clifford Carpenter, Mrs. Charles Bullard and Mrs. Oren Jones, all of Elmira; a son, Clayton F. Rush, Gouverneur; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Camden, Feb. 2—Funeral services for Mrs. Isadora Rush Smith, widow of John P. Smith, whose death occurred Wednesday morning at her home on Fayette St., were conducted Friday afternoon at her residence. The Rev. Alfred Martin, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, officiated. The bearers were T. Thomas Smith, George Hayes, Forrest Jackson, William O'Rourke and Otto Harlander.
There were many floral tributes; in addition to pieces from neighbors, friends and relatives were those from the Auxiliary to the American Legion at Elmira; Camden Chapter, Order of Eastern Star; Queen Village Rebekah Lodge; 408 of Chemung County, and the Gouverneur Savings and Loan Association.
Interment, in charge of J. Floyd Smith, will be made in Forest Park cemetery, the remains placed in the vault to await burial next spring.
