He and his wife are the parents of 11 children: Joseph Allen 1775-1855, Johannes G. 1777-1843, Christian 1780-1864, Anna Maria 1782-1864, Frederick 1784-1869, Ranatus, 1786-1857, Catherina Polly 1788-1790, Wilhelm Gottlieb 1791-1874, Abraham Jonathan 1794-1857, Gottfried Benjamin 1798-1863 and a daughter born 1800. He died at the age of 74 years 2 months 11 days. There took place in Gnadenhutten the burial of Gottlieb Demuth who departed yesterday morning at 3 o'clock.
