Daniel was born at Waldmünchen, Kries Cham, Bavaria, Germany, to Daniel L. Brückl and Maria Rötzer. The family immigrated to America on April 6, 1872 on the vessel S.S. Leipzig from Bremen to Castle Garden at New York. They settled on a farm in Franklin Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin. Daniel married Mary Blau on November 12, 1884.

Daniel Brueckle, who was operated upon last Friday for an abcess of the small intestine, died at his home in the town of Franklin on Saturday. Mr. Brueckle was about 40 years old. He leaves a wife, formerly Mary Blau, to whom he was married sixteen years ago, and two adopted children. The funeral took place at Plain on Monday morning.
