Louila Gardner was the daughter of Dovie Mae Short Gardner and Robert Franklin Gardner. She had numerous brothers and sisters. When she was younger, she moved to Brooklyn, New York to live with her sister Nellie Gardner Sarlo and brother-in-law, Frank Sarlo. Louila was one of the niceest people that anyone would want to know. She passed away in July 1986 after suffering a stroke in her apartment. Prior to her stroke, Louila requested that she be buried with her mother and father in North Carolina. My mother and I accompanied her back to North Carolina, where she is buried with Dovie Mae Short Gardner and Robert Franklin Gardner.

Cause of Death: Stroke.
