Ella Mae Rankin, age 85, of Morris since 1975, and formerly of Portageville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Ella Mae was born August 12, 1934, in Peach Orchard, MO. She was the oldest daughter of William and Katie (Wylie) Sawyer of Marston, MO.
Ella Mae was a stay at home wife and mom. She always had a hug and smile for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her life revolved around her family and she was always there for them.
Ella Mae is survived by her children - Joyce Mitchell of Ava, MO, Jerry (Della) Rankin, Susan (Patrick) Dolan, Virginia Rankin, Elizabeth (Ben) Ordonez, all of Morris, Pamela (Sudeep) Lamichhane, of Lacey, WA, and Douglas Rankin of Orlando, FL; 12 grandchildren, Patience Mitchell, Jeffrey Mitchell, Tanya Downey, Sondra Rankin, Robert Dolan, Laura Dolan, Leticia Ordonez, Isaac Ordonez, Crystal Webb-Aspel, Mathieu Aspel, Deryk Rankin, and Drake Devine-Rankin; eight great-grandchildren, Ella Walker, Tyler Downey, Hope Downey, Roland Webb, Moses Rankin, Isaac Mitchell, Emily Mitchell, Caroline Mitchell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Robert, her beloved husband of 62 years, one infant son, Thomas David Rankin; one daughter, Cheryl Lynn Rankin; her parents; and her dear grandmother Lily Mae Wylie, who raised her; one brother, Dallas Sawyer, her half-sister Annette (Sawyer) Blankenship; and half-brothers Gary Sawyer, Glendel Robbins, John Robbins, and a step-brother Tommy Robbins.
Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris on July 30, 2022.
