December 17 - Funeral services for Jules Menard, 46, who died at his home in the Second Ward of St. Landry Parish Tuesday (December 15, 1936) afternoon were held Wednesday in Cankton, and were largely attended.

The deceased is survived by his widow, the former Adeline Marks; three sons, Sosthene, Lezy and Dupre; six daughters, Mrs. Raoul Cormier, Misses Carise, Delie, Eldie, Rita and Andrian Menard, all of St Landry Parish.

G. D. Melancon and Son were in charge of funeral arrangements.
