Memorial services were held Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1985, at 10 a.m. from Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, for Mrs. Mary Alice Jobe Hammond, 73, a Ripley native living in Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Hammond died Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Methodist Medical Center in Houston, following a lengthy illness.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Hammond, Sr. of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Rich Oxley of Dayton, Ohio; a son, Dr. James W. Hammond, Jr. of Columbia, S.C. and four grandchildren.
The Rev. Dr. Jerry Mixon preached funeral services and burial was in Oakwood Cemetery. Oliver Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Pallbearers were Charles Hamer, E.A. Wood, Jr., Glenn Johnson, James Robinson, Bob Hammond and Edd Sullivan.
