The Golden Bells of Heaven rang out when Trudie Lee Wilcox Jackson stepped from this life into her eternal home in Heaven on July 17, 2020. She was 92 years old.

Trudie was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on October 26, 1927, to Rev. and Mrs. E.G. Wilcox of Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil where they served as Southern Baptist Missionaries. They were home on furlough with their other three daughters, Dorothy, Juanita and Lorene. Soon after Trudie’s birth, the family went back to Brazil where they served. In 1940, Trudie’s daddy died, and Trudie and her mother came back to the US, moving to Brownwood, Texas. It was in Brownwood that she met Richard Jackson, whom she later married.

Richard had also come home to the US in 1940, from China, where his parents were serving as Southern Baptist Missionaries. Richard and Trudie were married for 69 years until Richard’s death in April 2018. They lived in Brownwood and Ballinger before settling in San Angelo, Texas where they lived for 61 years before moving to Ozona, Texas in 2016. Trudie and Richard were devoted to serving the Lord as members of the First Baptist Church all their married life and set a fine Christian example for anyone who knew them.

They had 2 children, Richard and his wife, Mary of Celeste, Texas and Vicki Davis of Ozona, and three grandchildren: Phil Eichmiller and wife, Chris, and their three children; Lars, his children, Clover and Leif; Jade and Skye of Oregan, Pete Eichmiller and Athena of Richardson, Texas, his daughter, Holly of Burleson, Texas, Sean Davis of San Antonio, Texas and his girlfriend, Katelyn Snider of Rosanky, Texas.

Trudie will be missed by her children, grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Vivian Jackson of El Cerrito, California, her nieces, nephews and friends, but we know that we will see her again in Heaven.

Trudie was met at the Pearly Gates by her husband Richard, her parents, Richard’s parents: Rev. and Mrs. John Edward Jackson, her three sisters and their husbands: Dorothy and Charles Myers, Juanita and Charles Dickson, and Lorene and James Vermillion, her nephews: Dave McGinn and Ed Myers, her brother-in-law Ed Jackson, brother-in-law and wife Everett and Yvonne Jackson and sister-in-law and husband Carrie and Peter Karregeannes, as well as many beloved friends.
