Samuel Burdine Flippen passed away March 17 at his residence near McCarley. Services were held March 19 at the McCarley Methodist Church with Rev. B. C. Nunn officiating. Burial was with Lee Funeral Home of Winona in charge

Mr. Flippen was born in Tennessee, October 17, 1898 and in 1919 married the former Miss Lillian Esteen Scruggs. He was a member of the McCarley Methodist Church. '

Surviving are his wife of McCarley, two daughters, Mrs. J C. Richards, Sturgeon, Mo., Mrs. Julia Ruth Brisendine, McCarley, three sons, Samuel Raymond Flippen, Winona, Willie Paul Flippen, Reno, Nevada James B. Flippen, Leesville Louisiana, two sisters, Mrs. W. E. Felts, Indianola, Mrs. Ruby Denham, Eldorado, Arkansas, two brothers, Homer Flippen, McCarley, Ira D. Flippen, Natchez, and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Clyde Dotson Jr., Chriss George, Sam Barrentine, Virgil Chambley, J. D. Hooks, F. E. McCrary, Wallie Carpenter and L. J. Chambley
