Corrections Made In Story of Death of James Pumphrey

In it issue of November 16 The Times Post published a story on the death of James M Pumphrey, who died November 11 at his home in the Arbor Grove community.

The information for this story was given to this newspaper by the minister who officiated at the funeral services. It was assumed to be correct since the minister was thought to be well acquainted with the Pumphrey family.

A number of errors, however, were contained in the story. The Times Post offers its apologies to the family and correctly publishes the erroneous portions of the former story as follows:

Mr. Pumphrey was married in young manhood to Miss Cornelia Baird, who died eight years ago. For 29 years he was a deacon of the Arbor Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving him are six sons, Eddie Lee, L T, Luth, Emmitt, Charles, and Ernest, of West Point; a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Hollingsworth; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Martin; 39 grandchildren; three nephews, Goza Boring and J V Boring, both of Houston, and C T Boring, of Greenwood; and three nieces, Mrs. B H Baine and Mrs. Addie Austin, both of Houston, and Mrs. Richard Flower, of Greenwood.
