Although my aunt, Natalie S. (Waskevich) Tarkiainen died before three of her sons, I'm not sure exactly when, at this time. She was married to Arvid Tarkiainen and had four sons, Donald A. Tarkiainen, who died March 10, 2003, David R. Tarkiainen of Ocean Ridge, Fla., who joined him in Heaven only nine short days later, Daniel P. Tarkiainen, who died in 1995, and Alan D. Tarkiainen of North Oxford. She also left many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Beatrice Waskevich. Her brother Albin D. Waskevich, husband of Loretta N. (Mitchell) (Waskevich) Groleau, died in 1975. Her sister, Constance P. (Waskevich) Berger, wife of Gerald Berger, died in 2000. Her sister, Angela M. (Waskevich) (statias) Stashis, wife of Vitaught (Statias) Stashis, died in 1997.

I can remember visiting Aunt Nat and Uncle Arvid and them visiting us when I was very young but we lost touch over the years. I remember Alan visiting with my cousin Carl sometimes during the summer and Jackie and I were the same age and lived near each other, so I did see him here and there. All of the boys were older than me and I don't remember seeing them much after the 1950's, when my parents separated and went their separate ways. Had my dad been well, I'm sure we would have spent a lot more time together. As things went though, we'll just have to look forward to a grande reunion in Paradise, complete with fireworks and all!! I always loved Aunt Nat and Uncle Arvid. They were terrific people and raised a wonderful family.

Love,
Susan (Loretta & Al's daughter)
