Loranza Dow Deskins, 88, of Hatfield, KY, passed away Tuesday June 30, 2020, at his residence. Loranza was born July 27, 1931, at Borderland, WV, to the late Thomas Jefferson Deskins and Junia Alene Spradlin Deskins. Loranza is also preceded in death by his wife; Dorthea Mae Deskins, and his siblings; Major Deskins, Clarence Deskins, Cecil Deskins, Frank Deskins and Elva Fraley. Loranza was a retired master carpenter, a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and a Veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps.
Loranza is survived by his children, Junia A. (Danny) Carroll of Pinsonfork, KY, Virginia L. Darlucio of Hatfield, KY, Meshoia S. Green of Hatfield, KY, Robert D. Deskins of Hatfield, KY, and Mary M. (Eddie) Hunter of Sidney, KY. grandchildren; Jeremy Carroll, Tabitha Gannon, Matthew Carroll, Michael Darlucio, Kayla Dillon, Sierra Cartrell, Emily Maynard and Justin Carroll, four great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday July 4, 2020, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Lee Dotson Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at the Family Cemetery, Hatfield, KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6 - 9 PM Thursday and Friday night at the funeral home with special services both nights at 7 PM. R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY, is serving the Deskins family.
