Mary Elizabeth (Sis) Kirkland Ledbetter (1853-1940) married Daniel Littleberry Woodville (Coon) Ledbetter on 25 Nov 1875. She was Coon's 3rd wife. She raised his three children as well as her twelve. Anderton, Bryan Watson Ledbetter, Riley Ledbetter, Mary Rose L. Saint.Mary Elizabeth Kirkland married Daniel Littleberry Ledbetter in Marshall County, Alabama on 25 November 1875.

Mary Elizabeth Kirkland Ledbetter was said to have gone blind at age 41 in 1894. She is listed as BLIND in the 1910 Federal Census of Marshall County, Alabama.

She made application for Confederate Veterans Widows Pension on 25 April 1922 after her husband had died on 27 March 1922.
According to records she was paid $45.00 every three months. Her husband had enlisted as a Private in Company H, 49th Regiment Alabama Infantry, CSA in 1861 and served until the end of the war in 1865.

Her Alabama Death and Burial Index shows that she died in Grant, Marshall County, Alabama and three of her children are buried at Panquin Cemetery (Rebecca, Watson and Mary Rose).
