Funeral services for Louis W. Dirksen, 72, prominent furniture man, who was found dead in bed at 7:45 a.m. yesterday at his residence, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s church. Rev. James F. Meara will officiate and burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Mr. Dirksen’s death was apparently due to natural causes.

Mr. Dirksen was for many years connected with A. Dirksen & Sons Co. He was also connected with the Stern Furniture Co., for about five years. For a short time he was associated with the Johnston-Hatcher Furniture Co. On June 6 of this year Mr. Dirksen returned to Springfield after living for two years in Pala Alto, Calif., the only period he did not reside in this city. On his return he rejoined the staff of the Stern Furniture Co., after a four year retirement.

He was born July 17, 1876, in Springfield, the son of the late Anton Dirksen, founder of the Dirksen Furniture Co., and Mary Dirksen. He was a member of St. Agnes church.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; four sons, Louis J., Marshall and Lawrence, all of this city, and Wilfred, of Louisville, Ky; one daughter, Mrs. Marie Dirreen, of Havana; one brother, Joseph Dirksen, of city, and six grandchildren.
