ANTON DIRKSEN IS CLAIMED BY DEATH

Dirksen - Died, at 1:30 o'clock Sunday Oct. 9, 1910, at his home, 719 South Eighth street, of pneumonia, Anton Dirksen, aged 84 years. The funeral arrangements will be made later.


Mr. Dirksen was born in Germany. He came to this city in 1853.


Fifty-six years ago, he married Miss Mary Elshoff in this city.


He was the head of the firm of A. Dirksen & Sons. He was a cabinet maker and was one of the oldest and most highly respected German resident of this county.


He was a devout member of St. Vincent's society.


Decedent is survived by five sons, Theodore, Henry, Frank, Joe and Lewis and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Reis, of this city.


Mr. Dirksen was one of the oldest members of the city. For the last forty years, he has conducted a furniture store in this city. Starting with a small ____ by his faithful attention to business and square methods of dealing with his customers, he has built up one of the largest trades on the state.


Six years ago last July, Mr. Dirksen celebrated his golden wedding anniversary at which time hundreds of his friends were present at his home. Few men in this city have as many friends as Mr. Dirksen. A man of pleasing personality, he made and retained the friendship of all with whom he came into contact.
