Of De Soto, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at her home at the age of 80 years. She was born on October 28, 1939 at Truman, Arkansas the daughter of the late Georgia (Wright) Brewer-Burns and Daniel Brewer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Melvin R. Lay, Sr., her second husband William F. Prosser, Sr., a brother Carl Brewer, two sisters, Agnes Hanners and Jeanne Carmon, and a grandson Carl Jason Lay.
Wilma was a faithful member of the De Soto First Assembly of God where she enjoyed spending time with her church family and listening to music and God's word. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and traveling…particularly to the beach.
She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her two sons, Melvin R. Lay, Jr. of French Village, James and wife Lisa Lay of Heidenheimer, Texas, and a step son David and wife Emily Prosser of Crystal City, four daughters, Deborah Bequette of De Soto, Terry and husband Tim Glore of Festus, Linda Dunn of Herculaneum, and Jeanne and husband Carl Reeves of Festus, three brothers, Don and wife Diane Carmon of the State of Florida, Bobby and wife June Burns of Marmaduke, Arkansas, and Billy and wife Landa Burns of the State of Oklahoma, a beloved nephew Danny Hanners of the State of Michigan, 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and dear friends.
