Irma G. Poggio, 57, 118 Front St.,Exeter, died Aug 3, 1973 at Exeter Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the wife of John J. Poggio, owner and operator of Poggio's Market, Front St.
Born in Exeter, Feb. 16, 1916, Mrs. Poggio has been a lifelong resident of this town. She was the daughter of the late Peter(Pierre) Bernier and Georgianna (Collins) Bernier.
Mrs. Poggio was a retired stitcher at the former Wise Shoe Company and a communicant of St. Michael Church. She was a former member of the women's auxiliary of the Exeter Fire Department.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, John Peter Poggio; a brother, Leon Bernier; one granddaughter, Miss Melissa Hovey of Newburyport, Mass.; four nieces and two nephews, all of Exeter.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Brewitt Funeral Home, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael Church. Rev. Roland Cote was celebrant.
Burial followed in Exeter Cemetery, with commital prayers by Rev. Fr. Cote.
Bearers included William and Arthur Bernier, Laurence Day, Richard Kreger, William Sprague and Maurice Carlson.
